The work proceeds........

The bottom picture is the oldest showing one steel in situ with temporary wooden beams supporting existing wooden struts covered in plastic sheeting.

The top pics were taken today showing a larger portion of roof which has been removed at the back and a view in the side. The lads have laid most of the wooden joists down now. Inserting the steels took a lot longer than usual due to our positioning off the road and having to hoist upto roof level and then bolt them together plus extra bits. But they managed it in the end!

Thames Water have employed work men to replace the Victirian mains in the area. Tomorrow they are switching to the new main and fingers crossed it will function and then we can finally get all the holes riddling the street and around the green filled in, see pic. They are most buggy and car unfriendly. Parking has been difficult as they have dug up half the street and then park white vans on it all day long!

And finally a picture of the wooden crate like structure which the builders built to chuck all the rubbish into. My grass is an unfortunate victim of the structure but it had to be done as according to the builders placing a skip in SE London for a long period of time will result in sofas and beds being deposited in them when left unguarded! They will hire a skip when they are ready to t/f all the rubbish, not an enviable job methinks.

So that's it really. I have been out mucho en la sol porque es muy bonita! I think I have got a bit of a tan and Nat has liked visiting the swings frequently! His lunchtime nap has been in the lounge in a travel cot and he has been great and slept through some noisy sawing and drilling.
