Fungi day @ Kew anyone?

So Pom has time off and wants to visit Kew so me and Nat tag along for fun. Fun being the lift up to the walking among the treetops not ready yet so I have to carry Nat up many flights of stairs...........feel the burn!!! Anyhoo it offers a great view of the Temperate house and technically if you can throw far you could lob a brick through the evolution house glass roof..................tut tut who said that!

Nat didn't seem to be too phased by being high off the ground. Not like Bampa in that respect then!

Pom enjoyed looking at all the different tree barks.......hmm something about barking comes to mind!!! Nat wasn't so impressed though. Not having an after lunch nap proved too much for the young one not to mention the yawning that occured from the 2 oldies on the way home!










































Lunch was enjoyed on a bench and Nat stole Pom's Pomme, see picture!! BTW when he eats an apple he gets a blotchy face, anyone had/seen that reaction to an apple before?









Now apparently trees live in harmony with fungi, fungi, funny! But we found a magnificent specimen on a tree. Looks like a malignant growth but hey. It was also a bit smelly........don't ask!

Nat is being looked after by recently retired 'Bampa' tomo a.m so I can go to the SBU fresher's fair..........re-living my youth and hopefully planting some seed.
