SBU Freshers Fair

So Nat was dropped off at Bampa's and Bamma's. Bamma was there so gave me a lift in so I didn't have to pay CC @ £8, thank you! And yes Susanna, it is a whole year already but Nat would have got frustrated being in a buggy for that long this time round so the perfectly timed retirement meant instant babysitting duties and a fun time was had in Sunray Gardens on the swings!!

I got there just after ten and Pastor Haile was there with the display set up. As you can see it is a well produced display with two big banners either side. Just as last year it has to have been the best visual display on offer.

The morning session was slow to start but soon we had many students flowing in to get their freebies. Pastor Haile, myself, Englebert and Bisi manned, yes I like the non PC was of saying it, the stall from 10-1. We had sweets and pens to gives away as well and lots of literature, invitations and CDs.

The CDs were popular and we gave many away. From Thursday (am + pm) alone it is estimated we gave away 700 invitations which is amazing.

Here is Bisi trying to run from the camera but I snapped her anyway!!!

Many responses were met from, "no thanks" to ''oh, thank you", to "hallelujah, praise the Lord"!!! The CDs were particularly useful as people not wanting to enter a church were willing to take away a gospel sermon.

May the Lord be pleased to use the CDs, invites and literature to awaken souls in this dark city. 2 years completed now and it has to be unrivalled in making contact with students so if other churches are in a position to do this work I would encourage it.

Being in a big city holds so many opportunities. Aren't we blessed to have been raised in a church that takes hold of them. Praise the Lord for the freedom to enter into unis and witness to Him.

I wonder if we could do something like this with uni glos. Hmmm

Why not? It would cost some money but souls last cash doesn't so the church coffers can cough up!!!

And it would be worth while having a couple of banners made for the stall.

Now there's an opportunity if the Lord overrules with permission - ask Pastor B about how he approaches the uni.

Hello there! I saw you at a blog I was browsing for paper crafting and your picture looked so fun and happy, I had to stop over and see you. I enjoyed your posts - love your sense of humor. I've got you on my faves list, so I'll stop by occasionally, at least.
I was thinking about the differences in health care between the US and UK. (I have several friends in the UK) Ours is really a mess. As in: 'What will insurance cover that you need and what will you have to pay out for?'
"What will'Medicare' cover? Enough to just keep you alive, or enough for a good quality of life?"
(Guess what the answer is) and finally, 'Can I afford to be healthy?'
Don't get ME started!
